Capitol Prayer

Mon, 03/28/2016 - 6:56pm -- Rob

Last fall, I joined a small prayer team from Indianapolis praying on site on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.  During our trip, Pastor Yaqub, our team leader, shared that he has led prayer on site at over 20 state capitols around the United States.

Recently, Yaqub contacted me to share which capitols the Lord is directing him to lead prayer teams to pray at in 2016.  The first is Jefferson City, Missouri (this week).  Later in the year, the capitols of West Virginia, Wisconsin, and possibly one other state will be scheduled for on site prayer.

One of the many things I enjoy about praying on site at capitols is that while we drive, there are many opportunities to pray for towns and cities along the way; it's a chance to impact many in prayer as we travel!  While at the capitols, we meet with a prayer coordinator from that city who helps us to focus our prayers for current events, legislation, legislators, as well as larger spiritual warfare matters that we can support locals in prayer.

This week, our team will drive to Jefferson City, MO to pray for two days.  It will be a short trip, but certainly impactful- especially for our hearts, which will carry home memories of faces, places, and impressions in prayer that we will continue to draw from as we pray well after we depart the area.

Please pray for our team to focus clearly upon the Word and the Holy Spirit.  We desire to pray well, and hearing clearly from God is vital in doing so.  Thank you for including us in your prayers!
