There are many books on the subject of prayer on the market today. Some books exhort Christians to pray with greater sincerity, bigger expectations of God, or simply to set aside more time each day to push through personal prayer lists.
While there are helpful tips and tidbits in many of these books, I've found few that have instructed me HOW to pray in a manner that creates greater intimacy with God- one of the great purposes of prayer to begin with!
Recently, a friend gave me a copy of Transforming Prayer by Daniel Henderson. Unlike other prayer books, this one goes about addressing one of the most important, and motivating, elements of prayer that seems lost in our day and age- Seeking God's face before seeking His hand.
As I've adapted this way of praying, I've found myself drawing nearer to God, letting Him instruct me on how/what to pray, and have found myself much closer to living out 1 Thessalonians 5:17 call to pray without ceasing!
It's been such a valuable and motivating book to me that I want to recommend it to you to read. To order, click the link above.
May your prayer life, and relationship with God, be transformed!
