Linda began learning about prayer walking when Sarah, her 21 year-old granddaughter, left to begin a 9-month study trip in Spain. As Linda continued to learn how easy it was to pray for people wherever she was, she thought about Sarah- and what she could accomplish in prayer while she was in Spain.
One day, Linda called her granddaughter to see how she was doing. While they spoke, Linda asked Sarah if she would pray for God to touch people she encountered in Spain.
Sarah eagerly exclaimed, "I love that idea! I will be visiting cities all over this country, so I'll go with a mindset of prayer for people I encounter every day!"
Linda was encouraged at how quickly Sarah caught on to the idea that she could pray for people God brought across her path.
While Americans often travel on mission trips and overseas prayer walks, Sarah is proof that one can be effective in prayer right where they're at. She happens to be in Spain- and is making the most of her time. But whether one is overseas, or in their local supermarket, people are all around- and there's not a single person who wouldn't benefit from being prayed for (whether they realize it or not)!
Try praying for people you see while you drive, ride a bike, stand in the the checkout line at the store, or just about anywhere else where others may be found. God may use your prayers to begin working in someone's life that's empty without Him.
